ODC Library Media Center
“We’re here to help our Eagles Soar!”
“Hey, quiet down over there! You sound
like you’re having too much fun!” Yes, those are words
you might hear from library media specialists Mrs. Smithson and
Mrs. Applebach if you’re in the library being a tad too
noisy. The library is definitely a fun place at ODC!
The library is always open and many student visit
with a pass during their lunch time. Twelve computers with Internet
access await students as they complete research projects or just
want to look up a book. Fourteen thousand books, among these contemporary
and favorite “classics,” as well as a nonfiction collection
that would make Melvil Dewey proud.
The ODC Library Media Center offers up-to-date
technology and resources for thorough elementary-oriented research.

Accelerated Reader Program
The library is pleased to offer this schoolwide reading
program to our students and currently offer over 3000 books and
tests. We continually order new tests and students are welcome
to write a test as long as the AR criteria is met. All AR books
are labeled with the appropriate reading level, and reading lists
by level are available to parents on request. Students may take
AR tests in the library as well as in their classrooms. Click
here for a current list of AR books.
