There are many opportunities for students to become involved at ODC.

Art Squad - meets twice a month.  Students are selected based on interest, ability, and achievement in art.  They create artwork to promote awareness and excellence in the visual arts.

Bookstore - ODC has a bookstore that is open each morning before the start of the school day. Supplies including pencils, paper, notebooks, erasers and school logo merchandise is available for purchase from the Bookstore.

Computer Technicians - Selected students who show technology ability and can learn to troubleshoot small problems within the school. These students take their duty seriously, and demonstrate
responsibility.

Destination Imagination - is an international competition that emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and problem solving skills.  This years ODC has two multi-grade level teams that meet weekly after school.  One team, "Dynamic Improv," will research famous cultural performers, landmarks and innovators, and then work together to create a performance. The "Mystery Loves Company" team will write a mystery story and design communication tools for sending secret messages.

Future Problem Solvers - 4th and 5th grade students use creative problem solving processes through competitive and non-competitive instructional programs so that they learn to work with others in designing positive futures.  Four-member teams research topics to tackle social, scientific, political, economic or technical issues.

Great Computer Challenge - Each year WHRO and the Consortium for Interactive Instruction (C.I.I.) hosts a fun filled day, where teams of students use their technology skills in group competition.

Morning Announcement Team - Several students provide the morning announcements each day. They lead the Pledge of Allegience and the moment of silence, give the daily weather report, announce upcoming events and provide a quote-of-the-day message.

Newspaper - ODC have almost 70 students involved as editors and reporters this year.  We plan to publish 8 issues.

Picture Art Enrichment -

Safety Patrols - ODC has approximately 26 saftey patrols who work hard every morning and afternoon to keep our school safe.  They lead by example, and are an asset to the school environment.

Student Council Association - (SCA) - at ODC is designed to give our students an opportunity to be involved in planning and implementing projects and activities.  These projects focus on supporting and helping our community and our school.  Our SCA theme at ODC is "Leadership is Action, Not Postion."

Ten, Twenty, Thirty, Forty, Fifty Mile Clubs - All students in the school participate.  During run club days they try to run as many laps as possible and we keep a log of their totals.  Three laps is a mile.  When they reach the 10, 20, 30 or 40 mile club they get a reward for all of their hardwork, not to mention their name up in the gym.
